Hello everyone!

We are planning a trip today to Cebu Island with the primary purpose of having an EMG test on Paul's nerve damage to his right foot. He was hoping that the small movement was an indication that the nerves were growing and use was slowly coming back. However, when he visited with the specialist in Manila, this doctor recommended surgery for the removal of scar tissue and to check the attachment of the nerve. While in Cebu, Paul will get a second opinion from the doctor who is a rehabilitation specialist. Then we must make a decision on whether to have surgery or just do rehab. SO, please pray for us to have wisdom in this situation.

Pray also for the VFM special offering that will be taken soon at several churches for a leadership training/church camp/office location. We urgently need a permanent place for leadership training and camp.  Thank you! Mary Wilson

Greetings to you from the Philippines!  Earlier today I was looking at facebook pictures showing the snow already falling in several areas. We are hot, mostly dry, and running the air conditioner to keep cool! What a difference… We are constantly reminded of the Christmas season (without snow) by the Christmas trees and decorations already displayed in offices, restaurants, and shopping malls.

Paul and I have greatly enjoyed our time with Dan Wilson and Tracy Morris. We wish we could keep them a little longer…but I think they are missing home now and will be ready for the long airplane ride on Tuesday. Paul and two other pastors have been traveling with them today to visit some final churches.  They have attended 2 weddings, a men’s retreat, visited several schools, spoke in many churches and pastor/wife gatherings, fed new food items (lots of rice), experienced the traffic coming and going, some “down time” at the beach, and encouraged many Filipino’s by their words, gifts, and kindness. Many lives have been touched by Dan and Tracy!

Paul has been excited to see a little improvement in lifting his injured foot. Please keep praying for him and a full recovery. He is encouraged by this change and hopes to have further testing done in November.

We will be flying on Sunday afternoon with Dan and Tracy to Manila. Sunday also happens to be “All Saints Day” so many people will be making journeys to the cemeteries to visit family and honor the dead by offering prayers, food, and crying for the loved ones. It is also a time of family reunions.  I will be flying back to Dumaguete on Tuesday after the guys fly home to the states. Paul will be flying also that day to another part of the Philippines to visit churches and attend one more wedding in Suriago on Saturday. He will be gone almost a week. Keep him in your prayers.

We are happy for the bodega God provided for us to rent in storage of the books and Sunday School curriculums. We have all the textbooks organized and College Press materials sorted for distribution. We have already started giving away many items.  I have 60+ boxes waiting to go out to the Island of Cebu to be used in many public schools in need of textbooks. Thank you  so much for collecting the books and school supplies for the Philippines. A special thanks to each and everyone who donated items for the Philippines! You are a blessing to many teachers, students, and schools!

Hello prayers!

Thanks for your prayers for Mary and I as we have traveled to pick up all the materials for the Philippines and getting it to Negros Island.  Wow what a job it has been this time.  The materials were all released from customs this past Thursday and we finally got it to our place on the island of Negros this Saturday.  It is now unloaded.  Thanks for praying for this shipment.

Mary and I now must hurry and pack to go across the island to Bacolod to speak at a church anniversary that is this Sunday afternoon.  We hope to be back to Dumaguete to start sorting the materials for the schools and churches next Tuesday.

We now can relax and look forward to Dan Wilson (4th trip) and Tracy Morris from the Oakwood Christian Church to come and see us the last two weeks of October.

Thanks for your prayers and encouragement!

Concerning the church camp.   It is still for sale but they want to be paid fully before we can use it.  It seems that the USA dollar is weakening again so with each day the land cost us more.  Pray we can get the land for a permanent place for camp and printing and leadership training.  Several churches are planning a special offering to help purchase this land. ( It will cost $47,000 currently....)

Paul and Mary Wilson

Hello everyone!
Paul and I are doing fine. The typhoon was centered in the Manila area mostly and we were only receiving rain on this part of the Philippines. You will see lots of disaster areas on internet and newspapers for the Manila/Luzon area with flooding and loss of homes and material things. They were hit very hard. Very sad.
Please continue to pray for us in the final stages (we hope) of getting the container released out of customs. Paul went to Cebu today to "oversee" and help the lady working with us for the release. Paperwork can be overwhelming and time doesn't seem to be a factor here. We will have to unload the container when it is released and then rent trucks to bring it to our part of the island. The port in Cebu is approximately a 3 hour drive to the area where it will then board the cargo ships to come to Dumaguete. We have a bodega rented now to store everything and sort out to distribute to schools and churches.
Thank you! Mary Wilson

Greetings from Dumaguete City!

Paul and I are happy to be home and settled in our house again. My dog is happy to have me back. He is quite spoiled and presently sleeping on my lap as I type this note. Our helper, Bing, is getting married on Oct. 23rd and we have been busy trying to find a replacement for her. She has been a trusted and reliable person to have in our home and we will be missing her.

Paul has been meeting with pastors and visiting individually with them on their needs and goals for their churches. We have also made some trips to Cebu and Bacolod. The roads continue to be haphazard in traveling and it makes a long day of driving.

We are looking forward to getting our container in the next few days. Customs can never be predicted on how things go, so please be praying for Salma, as she negotiates for us. She has been a great help in paperwork and all the requirements from the port.  We met the broker while in Cebu and hope she will show favor on us again in getting things processed speedily and without great cost.  We have found a bodega (storage place) to rent to keep our shipment items, books, and College Press SS materials. Also, the 200 plus boxes stored in my house!!

Paul has a very important pastor's meeting tomorrow that needs a lot of prayer. Three small, struggling house churches in the area are being encouraged to unite as one congregation. This involves CHANGE, and 3 personalities. Please pray for us.

Lastly, be praying as we have been talking to the owners of the property that we shared with many of you about while we were in the states. The church camp property is still available to purchase but we are asking the owners to work with us by faith that we can afford the property.

Thank you for remembering us and the ministry of VFM. It was so wonderful to be home for 4 months and catch up and refresh again. We love you!
